Miniature Porcelain panel French carriage clock By Richard of Paris. In original condition. Circa 1890.

A superb and original little antique timepiece.

Stock No:   14227

The eight day duration movement with its original French Cylinder platform escapement. The backplate being stamped with the maker's mark of 'Richard et Cie (and Company - Paris) and numbered '874'.

Behind a hand-painted porcelain dial with a white chapter ring with black Roman numerals, minute divisions and having steel spade hands. The remaining areas have a silver coloured background with pink flowers and behind a bevelled glass panel. The rear door and oval top aperture also have bevelled glass panels with the sides bearing a further two painted porcelain panels that match the dial.

Contained in a 'Corniche' style gilded brass case with a bow carrying handle.

* This is a very attractive and typical quality timepiece probably intended for a bedroom or ladies dressing table. It would make an ideal gift.

Dimensions:                              3" high (excluding handle) x 2 1/8" wide x 1 7/8" deep.

Condition:                                  Superb with a slight crack to one panel corner.
