* James McCabe seldom needs introducing as he is universally known as a very fine maker. His clocks are always sought after by collectors whether made by him or his son (also James). McCabe serial numbers are confusing as they don't always follow in chronological order therefore, it is usual to date his clocks by the style of their parts and small variations in his escapements.
