The inverted bell top has a brass, swinging carrying handle, the door has a brass quadrant frame to the arched glass and the top corner blanks have brass Rococo style frets that are backed with red silk. * Hunter & Son traded from 156 Fenchurch Street and it appears that the family business covered four generation from 1754 until 1810. The partnership of William Hunter & Son lasted from 1810 until 1815. This information can be found in the book "An Encyclopaedia of famous clock & watchmakers - details of famous and world renowned watch & clockmakers" (Anon).
