The eight day duration, gut fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement, knopped pillars, shouldered plates, extended motion work pipes and also a heavy pendulum bob and well-shaped rod.

Behind a twelve inch diameter, one piece bowed wooden dial with original, crazed, cream coloured background paint, black Roman numerals, minute ring and the maker's name "THO(ma)s. DOLYER (of) BATH also, spade matching steel hands. The hinged, 'Sheraton' style, heavily cast polished brass concave section locking bezel has bowed glass.

Contained in a dark mahogany, small drop case with narrow surround, two side doors and curved bottom with locking cockbeaded door. The dial is fixed to the surround by the back with two large screws.

* This totally original clock is stunning. The dial is in exceptional and original condition and being wooden, gives a unique sound to the tick that is not possible with a metal dialed clock - the sound is wooden rather than metallic! The maker is not listed but a rare example is featured by him in 'English Dial clocks' by Ronald E. Rose, pages 182 and 184, this clock is extremely collectable and exudes character.
