Zenith solid oak, 18 day, centre wind, bowed dial wall timepiece circa 1930's.
This is an 'untouched' and totally original example of what has become an iconic wall clock.
Stock No: 14461
The 18 day duration, centre wound Swiss movement with a jewelled lever escapement and individually driven motion work. The circular movement is fitted within the hollowed-out case back and has a rear metal plate denoting the make, duration and regulation lever.
Contained in a one-piece solid oak case of excellent colour, figuring and patina with a deeply bowed front incorporating the dial. It has a well-moulded edge and applied brass Arabic hour numerals, minute dots and diamond hour points. It has shaped 'spade' hands.
* These clocks were almost exclusively retailed by Healey but this example was retailed by Maples of London and carries their nameplate to the rear. I personally love these wall clocks.
Dimensions: 13 1/2" high x 13 1/4" wide x 2 1/2" deep (the anomaly is due to age shrinkage)
Circa: 1930.
Condition: Untouched but in working condition and keeping to time. I have left the appearance
because some will prefer this look however, to repolish the hands and numerals etc. is a
simple matter. Please note that the oak case is not as 'red' as the photographs indicate
but rather a 'nutty brown'. Apart from slight age damage the case is in excellent
condition.
Price: £950 in its present and working condition. A price and timescale for any work required
by the purchaser can be advised upon enquiry.
