Small 'Stable' or 'Turret' clock movement, weights, pendulum and keys.
A rare chance to obtain an original 'Stable-yard' clock movement.
Stock No: 14254
The tiny weight driven, single train movement with Graham 'Dead-beat' escapement and maintaining power. Having green painted iron pillars and 1/4" thick brass plates carrying the brass barrel and six spoked, four wheel train with black arbors and crossings. The rear having bevelled leading-off work and universal crutch for the slow beating, eight feet long pendulum. The front having the winding and hand-setting squares and a painted 'Pilot dial' with black minute and 15 minute intervals (in reverse order) and being signed "H & J.P. COX & Co. (of) YEOVIL".
The movement also has its complete pendulum with hanging bracket, pulley's, weights and winding jack.
* I can find no record of a maker by this name. The movement was probably supplied to a business of the name. Though considered a Stable-yard clock, it could also have been supplied to a high St. business to drive hands for a 2 feet diameter dial hung on the exterior. This movement is very versatile and could be installed practically anywhere.
